Adam is an emerging leader in the immigration and refugee bar. He has practiced exclusively in the areas of immigration and refugee law since 2017.

 

Adam provides services to clients in all areas of immigration and refugee law and is committed to representing clients to the highest standard of practice. He regularly appears before the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB) and has represented clients in the Federal Court, Ontario Court of Appeal and Supreme Court of Canada. In addition to litigation, Adam assists clients with other immigration applications, including Pre-Removal Risk Assessments, Humanitarian & Compassionate applications, work and study permits, citizenship, and criminal inadmissibility issues. Adam’s expertise with web-based portals led to the creation of a tool used by lawyers and clients in accessing the Canadian Refugee Protection Portal.

 

Adam represented the Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers (CARL) as co-counsel in M.A.A. v. D.E.M.E., 2020 ONCA 486

Adam is Co-Chair of CARL’s Advocacy Committee and has been involved in advocacy campaigns on refugee and access to justice issues with Members of Parliament and policy advisors. Adam has also engaged in public advocacy through the media. Adam represents CARL on the IRB’s Consultative Committee.


Adam has presented at professional conferences on the refugee definition and digital immigration processes. 


He previously served as the Chair of the Canadian Bar Association’s National Law Students Section. He has been involved in numerous federal and provincial election campaigns, including as a legal advisor.

Adam received a Juris Doctor from Queen’s University, where he was the recipient of the Fasken Martineau Prize in Public Law, the Queen’s Law Prize in International Law, and the Susan J. Serena Award for overall scholarship and contribution to the faculty, the university, and the wider community. Adam also holds a Bachelor of Arts (First-Class Honours) with Distinction in Political Science from McGill University. 

Adam is a member of the Law Society of Ontario. He is also a member of the Canadian Bar Association, CARL, and the Refugee Lawyers Association of Ontario.
